Note: This was a previously recorded webinar, initially held live for participants at the time it was recorded.
This is a three-part series delving into the intricacies of working with female athletes from pre-teen through the high school years.
There are specific physiological, psychological, and nutritional factors that need to be considered when working with this particular population- younger athletes are not simply smaller adults, and a coach or parent needs to understand that their motivations may differ, their physiology is different, and their entire mindset is different, especially at a young age. This two part webinar focuses on the following components of working with this age group:
Part 1: The body. Understanding physiological challenges associated with young female athletes
This webinar focuses on the importance of diversification in training modalities, proper strength training to support the athlete’s chosen sport, understanding various injuries and the basics of injury prevention for this population, and practical nutritional planning and structure.
Part 2: The mind. Understanding the psychology of this population.
This webinar will focus on the mindset of these athletes, covering issues ranging from body image issues and cultivating a healthy relationship with food, to understanding leadership, initiative, and how to nurture the individual as an athlete and team player or leader.
Part 3: Live Q&A held during the initial recording of this webinar.
